Thea

Thea is from a small town and has two older brothers and a twin sister. As a mom and wife, Thea is always chasing around one of her kiddos or playing two of her favorite sports (softball or basketball) with them. When she is not in session, Thea loves to do outdoor activities: playing sports, working out, and probably with a family member or friend. Early mornings are a peaceful, favorite time for Thea, and she may be listening to a book or reading a book curled up with a great cup of coffee. When asked about a favorite quote she goes by, Thea says, "Change your mindset, change your life" -Ed Mylett.

As a play therapist...

My passion is assisting children and their families in processing and healing through traumatic and difficult situations. I believe children are resilient and their primary source of communication is through their play. I highly value offering a safe, accepting, and non-judgmental environment for individuals to begin making the changes and progress they are hoping for. By making these changes, our clients have the ability to live the life they want and do so successfully.

I approach the therapeutic process with curiosity, positivity, and encouragement. I strive to utilize my connection with clients to create the change they want. I assist clients in identifying their natural strengths and gaining insight into how these changes can be made.

I have worked for years with children, adolescents, and their families. In addition to play therapy and trauma interventions, I offer a variety of therapeutic modalities for individualized care. These include ADHD, anxiety, Autism, depression, ODD, abuse and trauma, childhood behavioral issues, self-esteem, and social skills.
